The band is finally playing for some real people this weekend! I guess one gig every one or two years is more than plenty.

I was realizing a few days ago how pathetic it is that when we had our show for the release of our first CD back in February of 2005, we had already written all of the material for the second CD and in fact played them all at this same show. Fast forward over 4 years and we still haven't released it. I am as much to blame if not more, since I'm not done recording myself (why bother) but this is getting a little pitiful.

Still no permanent singer in sight.

Woohoo. Whatever...

I finally got back in my home studio and completed Through Those Eyes, the third (of five) tracks on my band's second CD, Epoch. Although I have only two more to go, one is eight minutes long and the other one can be broken down into three eight-minute segments, so I'm not even halfway done yet. So much more to do.

I have been so unmotivated for quite some time - and not just in my musical hobby. Life throws a screwball at you and priorities change. It takes time to adjust your batting stance to a new pitcher. Sometimes you're the one supplying the inverse torque against the seams. Most likely though it's the rarely seen inhabitants of the bullpen behind the left field fence who have different styles of delivery and other intended destinations in mind.

I'm simply a discontented leaf scraping along the dilapidated asphalt of life's path, riddled with potholes and clueless drivers intentionally disobeying the speed limit in front of my house, scurrying along their own trajectory affected by the reactions of red stitched threads of an unseen ball against the world around it thrown by some random (or not so random) hand.
