What - Van Jones resigned? Who is Van Jones?

Thank you, Glenn Beck and Fox News for doing the job for the rest of the mainstream media. It's no wonder why so many people keep getting their news from alternate "non-mainstream elite" media. We can't trust them to do their due diligence.

And for those of you who think it was just for his being a 9/11 Truther and referring to Republicans as sphincters, put down your newspaper and do some research into his STORM organization, ACORN, and his other past (and recent) associations. I can see why the President didn't want to vet his Czars as if they were cabinet level positions. Judge a man by the company he keeps...

If I were a consistent consumer of the NY Times, the nightly news, and other elite media outlets I wouldn't have known there was even a brewing controversy with one of the President's "Czars". Today's CNN.com only lists it as a single line item link in both their main and Politics pages while banner articles about health care and Ted Kennedy abound. (yawn) Hardly news worth noting....

I think the pols (on both sides of the aisle) are finally waking up to the fact that "we the people" are getting tired of the government (federal and state) overstepping their constitutionally mandated limits of power and control of our daily lives.

Thank you, David William Hedrick for your service and courage to speak up!
That darn Constitution getting in the way of Big Government...

The 10th Amendment in its entirety:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Read it. Read it again. Now think of ALL of the things that the federal government does with the money that YOU give them. Whether or not you think [whatever] is a good idea, what in the simple yet succinct statement above gives the federal government the authority to fund and dictate these activities?

Ted Nugent's take: SOURCE

And Texas governor Rick Perry:

Contrary to what the pols and the media are telling you, this financial mess is not the failure of capitalism. It is just the opposite.

- Failure of decades of liberal Democrat policies, not Republican inaction.
- Failure of liberal Democrat programs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their corrupt and inept management by liberals.
- Failure of liberal Democrat policies forcing banks to make bad business decisions with sub-prime mortgages to people who can't afford them.
- Failure of government meddling into the private sector.
- Failure of government taking over private sector institutions and private sector responsibilities.

You can apply this to anything government is involved in outside the role defined by the US Constitution.

This is the failure of American socialism and fascism, NOT capitalism. Like oil and water, these competing philosophies of governance do not coexist in peace.
Congress thought that Enron, WorldCom, Halliburton, steroids in MLB, and Bog Oil were sooooo important to the American people and economy that they staged numerous multiple-day public lynchings er, hearings, letting the blowhards in Washington lecture those that produce the wealth that they steal.

Where are the hearings relating to the financial mess we're in? Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Bothers, Goldman Sacs, and Wall Street in general? It's because these folks contribute lots to politicians, and those that run these organizations are either ex-government types or are appointed by politicians.

I won't hold my breath...

    SOURCE

Above is a very interesting conversation with Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's top strategist. I'm sure his answers may have some residue of sour grapes, but in my biased opinion he makes very good points, especially about the elite media. I agree with him that the media treated Hillary with gloves made of sandpaper as compared to the mink covered ones gently cradling Obama - as they still continue to today. For proof, compare Charles Gibson's Sarah Palin interview with George Stephanopoulos' interview with Barack Obama.

Some of my favorite quotes from the article:

"He [Obama] is working against a Republican and swing voters willing to vote for a Republican. And those are a very different pool of voters with very different concerns. They don't care what the New York Times had to say. They don't care what Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd have to say. They don't care what "elite" opinion is."

"I think here the media is on very dangerous ground. I think that when you see them going through every single expense report that Governor Palin ever filed, if they don't do that for all four of the candidates, they're on very dangerous ground. I think the media so far has been the biggest loser in this race. And they continue to have growing credibility problems."

"And I think that that's a real problem growing out of this election. The media now, all of the media — not just Fox News, that was perceived as highly partisan — but all of the media is now being viewed as partisan in one way or another."

Although we come from different sides of the aisle and rarely will agree on anything, welcome to our world, Mr. Penn.

"When they attack one personally it means they haven't a single political argument left."
- Margaret Thatcher

Now, if John Edwards was the father of Bristol's baby, this story never would have seen the light of day.

I'm on my third anti-BS filter already. In fact, I was forced to install a commercial grade liberal feminist double standard filter, too. Good thing I've got plenty on hand...
In the windstorm of media coverage about John McCain's VP pick of Sarah Palin, I found this nice video montage of her.

I'm sure I'll comment more later, but I think she is a fabulous choice. Should be entertaining at the very least to see how the liberals try to work around the tangled double standards that they have concocted when criticizing a powerful, independent, female governor.

Engage your anti-BS filters, cause it's going to get dirty...

I had recently watched the season finale of the reality show, I Survived A Japanese Game Show. It is a silly but funny show after the equally silly and hilarious Wipeout. But I digress...

Something that came to mind was how friendly, and I think honestly, are the peoples of Japan and Germany with the Unites States. Granted it has been 60 years since WWII, but it has taken only a generation or two to practically erase the hatred and animosity of war. A good thing. A very good thing. I haven't been to the Pacific Rim, but I have been to Germany and there were no visible hostilities or resentment against me or the USA. From people I know that have been to Japan, it is the same there. Yes, at times governments and people don't get along and fight it out, one side WINS and the other side LOSES, and they both eventually move on.

Now only if the Middle East...

If President Bush did this the liberals would be up in arms, but as long as a socialist dictator and fellow Bush-hater like Hugo Chavez does it, it is called progressive enlightenment to be emulated back here in the USA (under liberal Democratic rule of course).

You DO remember that since the DEMOCRATS took over both houses of Congress the price of gas has DOUBLED!

Not that you'll hear this from any Obama-worshipping media source...

In all honesty though, the President and Congress can do little except lower or suspend taxes on gas, loosen regulations on drilling, etc. Sure, some things but in the scheme of things not so much.

Moodage =
